OSP Registration Process

Step 1: Register on the Official Portal 

 

Firstly, as you are a new user, create an account on Saral Sanchar and log in to your account.

 

Step 2: OSP License Registration

 

Click on DOT OSP License registration and proceed further. Most importantly, you can apply for OSP only after Private Limited Company Registration.

 

Step 3: Fill Form - 1

 

Thirdly, a form will display after clicking on registration. Fill the form with all the correct details with caution.

Step 4: Upload the Documents

 

Upload all the mandatory documents with the digital signature certificate (DSC) and submit the application.

 

Step 5: Pay the Fees

 

As soon as you submit the documents, the portal will redirect you to pay the fees online.

 

Government Fee

1. Domestic OSP License - Rs.15,000/- .
2. International OSP License - Rs.15,000/-
3. Domestic cum International License - Rs.1,80,000/-

 

Step 6: Application Verification of OSP License

 

Next, your application will be examined and verified by the authorized officer of the telecom department. 

 

Therefore, ensure that all the information in your application is correct to the maximum extent. 

 

Also, the department can raise queries via mail or letter for clarification if needed any.

 

Step 7: Clear the Queries

 

It is crucial to clear all the queries of the telecom department if they have any to avoid delay or rejection.

 

Step 8: Issuance of OSP License

 

Soon, the DOT (Department of Telecommunication) will issue the OSP License if all the information is correct.

 

It takes 20 days to get a domestic license or International License. However, the domestic cum international license takes around 30 days to issue.

• AoA and MoA of the Company
• Power of Attorney / Board Resolution authorizing the signatory to sign the documents on the company's behalf
• Nature and business activities of the proposed OSP Centre
• Information about Company's Director
• Shareholding Pattern Disclosure (Equity Details)
• Network Layout approved by Telecom Service Provider
• Rs.1000/- Challan for payment of OSP Registration Fees.

• Bank Guarantee of Rs.50,00,000- Rs. 1 Crore in the guided format

Validity of OSP License

 

The license is valid for 20 years from the date of issuance.

 

The validity extends for another 10 years at the renewal request of the OSP.

 

However, the request can be made in the 19th year on mutual agreement.

 

But, it is the decision of the authority to provide the extension or not.

 

Also, it is the responsibility of the company to update the authority of any name change or address and submit documents accordingly.

 

Compliance of OSP License

 

It is mandatory to submit the Annual Return within six of completion of the financial year.

 

The return should include the activities of the OSP in the previous financial year.

 

Moreover, the continuance status of the OSP operations should be covered.

 

With this in mind, any company failing to file the return for three consecutive years will face the cancellation of registration after two years.

The License holders can provide services like telebanking, telemarketing, telemedicine, e-commerce, call center and other IT services.

 

• Can I transfer an OSP License?

No, it is non-transferable.

 

• Do I need more than one OSP License?

It depends on the location. You need one OSP License per location of the company. However, if you plan to expand, you can obtain another license by submitting the existing license and certificate of incorporation.

 

• When will my OSP be added to the Active list?

After submitting the Annual Return, the OSP is added to the "active list". Similarly, if the return is not filled for three years, it adds to the "dormant list". Also, the registration cancels after 2 years.

 

• What is Domestic OSP and International OSP?

OSP providing services within the country needs a Domestic OSP License. On the other hand, the company's providing services beyond the national border requires an international OSP license.
